Dear Mr. Graf,
I remember the first time I heard the name “Mr. Graf.” I also remember when I first met Mr. Graf. First impression? First impression was wow I don’t understand him at all.
I don’t think you know this but for my first 3 years of high school I admired you in secret. Of course, not in that way but you were a teacher I wanted to converse with. You were probably the first teacher I ever wanted to know. It might have been because I have a soft spot for old people but it was more because you inspired. You offered me words I never got from the ones I worked so hard to make proud. Most of the time I wondered why you kept on doing this, but eventually I stopped questioning it because I realized it was a personality trait of yours. I would like to believe that you’re a natural at giving advice but who knows. The thing I would like to say the most is thank you for everything. I’ve only gotten to know you for one year but it was a year well spent. Thank you for providing me with wisdom and strength even when my struggles were nonsense. I really wish you the best now, in the future, and for the 6 years you have left teaching at King.
Sincerely, Gaozong Lor
I found this note just recently. I am still teaching at King. I am still old, and very blessed. Thank you Gaozong. You are an amazing human being.
